Writing a Cover Letter for a Virtual Call Center Job

No resume is complete without an accompanying cover letter. Writing a cover letter is not hard, but it is important and you should spend a few minutes composing a letter that will increase the likelihood of your resume being reviewed.

Your cover letter should be brief, no longer than one page in length, and expand on the Objective Statement you included in your resume.

Begin by specifically stating the position or type of position you are seeking. Follow this with a supporting statement or two, reflecting your skills and experience relative to the position you are seeking.

Highlight any work experience you have where you utilized the skills required by the position you are seeking.

Next, summarize any special skills or training you possess that will benefit you in your new position if hired.

Finally, sell yourself. Think about what employers look for in great employees. Highlight those qualities you possess that employers value highly. Qualities such as dependability, being a team player, being a fast learner, and having a positive attitude are all examples of desirable traits in an employee.

We have included a sample cover letter on the next page. You can use this as a guide when writing your own cover letter, but do not copy it word-for-word. Modify it to accurately reflect your own skills and experience.
