Virtual Call Center Company Employer Profile

About

Working Solutions was established in 1996 as a virtual call center employing agents working from home. The company is an outsourced provider of both inbound and outbound call center services to clients in many different industries. Working Solutions boasts a database of over 70,000 individuals qualified to work as home-based agents.

Work At Home Jobs

Working Solutions work at home agents provide both inbound and outbound call center services on behalf of company clients for which they have received training. Agents are treated as independent contractors versus regular W-2 employees. The company contracts with agents worldwide.

Requirements

  • Agents must have an up-to-date, reliable computer in their home, with a minimum of 256MB of RAM, and at least a 1 Ghz Processor.
  • A broadband internet connection (Cable, DSL, T1, ISDN, Satellite) is required. Some call center projects are not compatible with Satellite, AOL Broadband, or Wireless ISPs.
  • Computers must be current on Windows Updates and certain projects have restrictions regarding firewalls, pop up blockers, etc.
  • A Windows XP operating system with updated patches and critical updates is required. Vista is not currently accepted.
  • A landline phone free from voicemail, call waiting, call blocking and any other extra features so that the phone rings busy while in use. You cannot use cable, VOIP or other non-land line phones for project work.
  • A telephone headset.
  • A working printer.
  • A quiet, uninterrupted work environment during all working hours.

Benefits

  • Work From Home.
  • No commute.
  • No dress code.
  • Flexible Scheduling. Agents may schedule their own hours and work when it is convenient for them.
  • Agent Community Perks, including discounts to major computer retailers, and Agent Rewards and Referral Programs.

Compensation

Each project is paid differently, some by the record or entry, other by talk minutes, sales, or a combination of both. Some may be paid a set amount per project. Agents have earned the equivalent of anywhere from $7.20 per hour to $30 per hour, depending on the project. Your income will vary greatly based on the work you are doing, how successful you are, how much work is available, and how many hours you choose to work.

Other Notes

Aside from the tax implications of operating as an independent contractor, you may also incur additional expenses such as workman's comp and general liability insurance. We strongly suggest that you be sure you fully understand the responsibilities of business ownership, including any upfront costs to get started, prior to deciding whether or not to pursue this opportunity.

From the company website, "We do not recommend that Agents count on this as a full-time job replacement. This is temporary project work, and is meant to provide supplemental income. As an independent contractor, you are able to take advantage of other opportunities while working with us, if you prefer to have something else to fall back on during slower periods."
