California. The company was established as a virtual call
center and has hired and trained all of its agents
virtually since inception. LiveOps is an outsourced
provider of virtual call center services. Today the
company boasts over 20,000 work at home agents and
continues to expand aggressively.
Work
At Home Jobs
LiveOps
employs work at home Independent Agents servicing clients in
many different industries. Typical client needs are
customer service and sales support. Home based Independent Agents are
treated as
independent contractors versus regular W-2 employees.
Requirements
General
Requirements:
- You must be
professional, positive, optimistic and capable of
providing a high level of service.
- You must be reliable
and punctual.
Technical
Requirements:
- A personal computer
with at least a 1 GHz Pentium III processor or better.
- A minimum of 1 GB of
RAM Memory.
- Windows XP (we do not
recommend the Home Edition), or Windows Vista.
- Internet Explorer 6
with Service Pack 2.
- Java 2- Version 1.5.
- A minimum of one USB
port (USB version 2).
- Windows Update module
enabled and configured to update automatically.
- Windows standard
firewall enabled on systems where it exists.
- Anti-Virus software
installed and configured to automatically update.
- Anti-Spyware software
installed and configured to automatically update.
- Ad-Aware installed and
run at least once per week. You can
download and use it free.
- A monitor capable of
displaying at least 1024 X 768 pixels.
- A sound card
installed.
- Speakers or
headphones.
- Printer.
- Agents are required to
use a dedicated landline for inbound and outbound calls.
The telephone must be corded, and be free from all
features such as call waiting and voice mail. Cordless
phones are not allowed. Other telephony technologies
such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), cellular,
cable, and satellite are not permitted.
Benefits

scheduling opportunities for new agents twice a week.
You must commit to half hour time slots.

Compensation
Agents
invoice LiveOps per minute of talk time, averaging
anywhere between $7 and $20 per hour. Many clients also
issue performance bonuses for "up-selling" a caller to a
more expensive product. Agents are graded on a merit
system, with the most experienced and best scoring agents
getting the most lucrative calls. Agents can log in to see
their rankings at any time. Those at the top of the ranks
tend to be very busy. Fees are calculated from the 1st to
the 15th and from the 16th to the end of the month. Checks
are mailed on the first business day following the close
of an invoice period.
Other Notes
Aside from the tax
implications of operating as an
independent contractor, you may also incur additional
expenses such as workman's comp and general liability
insurance. There may also be other expenses involved when
working with LiveOps. We strongly suggest that you
be sure you fully understand the responsibilities of
business ownership, including any upfront costs to get
started, prior to deciding whether or not to pursue this
opportunity.
LiveOps charges a $50
non-refundable fee to cover a routine background and
credit check for all candidates interested in moving
forward with the LiveOps Certification Process and
becoming LiveOps Agents. Some clients may require
drug-screening other pre-employment services resulting in
a higher fee.
