The Virtual Call Center Job Search
(cont.)
Don't Pay to Work from Home? There may be fees.
We've all heard it repeatedly, "Don't pay to work from home". The reason we mention it is
because there are some legitimate virtual call centers that
require you to pay for your own background check when applying for
jobs, particularly when you will be employed as an independent
contractor. At that point it becomes a business expense.
Background
checks range from $35-$60. Because you will be working with
sensitive customer information (such as credit
card numbers), if you want the job you'll have to pay the fee. Not all
companies require this, but you should know that some do. Also, be
advised that paying the fee does not guarantee you will get the job.
Your application may still be declined if the employer is not
satisfied with the results of your background check.
This concludes our virtual call center employment guide. Congratulations on finishing and good luck with your job search!
Rest assured, your careful preparation, combined with persistence, will
ultimately pay off in the form of a rewarding work from home job,
allowing you to enjoy all the benefits and conveniences telecommuting has to
offer.
