BT Scotland Testing
Virtual Call Centre Work At Home
Call Centre
Focus is reporting that call centre workers in north
Scotland are set to work from home in a pilot project
being offered by communications solutions provider BT.
During the
test fifteen volunteer agents will work at home in a
virtual call centre using their broadband internet
connection to do the same work they would in the office.
A BT company
official is quoted as saying that virtual call and contact
centre employment, "... is the next big trend in the
industry and Scotland is well placed to create new jobs
from it."
It's reasonable to expect that if this test goes well, BT
will expand the use of home-based call and contact
centre agents.
This is yet another example
of companies worldwide embracing the home-based agent
business model, and should be welcome news to residents of
Scotland interested in obtaining jobs working at home.
Stay tuned. Further reports
will be made as more information becomes available.
