Magic Jack PLUS has officially
been released and is
available now. The primary difference between the original Magic Jack
and
Magic Jack PLUS is that you can use Magic Jack PLUS without
a computer.
Magic Jack PLUS can
still be connected to a computer just like the original Magic Jack,
OR, it can be connected directly to a router, no computer required.
The price is $69.95 and includes your first year of service. A free
30-day trial offer is available when ordering online. This offer is
not available in stores.
Number Porting Available Now -
Transfer Existing Numbers to Magic Jack
Coinciding with the release of the new product ALL Magic Jack
customers (both current and new, regardless of product version) can
transfer existing phone numbers to Magic Jack. There is a
one-time fee of $19.95 to complete this process. New customers must purchase either a Magic Jack or Magic Jack PLUS
in order to request the transfer of an existing number.
Current customers can
also transfer their existing Magic Jack number when upgrading to Magic
Jack PLUS. You initiate the transfer request on the "Subscriptions"
tab within your Magic Jack account online. You must first purchase and
register the Magic Jack PLUS prior to requesting the transfer.
Note: United
States residents can even request the transfer of existing numbers to Magic
Jack in cases where Magic Jack does not currently offer service in their
area code.
Original Magic Jack Still
Available
The original Magic Jack is still available
here
for just $39.95. Your first year of service is included free. A free
30-day trial offer is included when ordering online. This offer is not
available in stores.
Annual Renewal Rate to Go Up
The annual renewal rate will soon be increased from $19.95 to $29.95,
likely by year end (2011). All new subscribers will be subject to the new
rate after their first year. Customers who have already
purchased multiple-year subscriptions will not be subject to this
price increase until their existing subscription is due for renewal.
However, you cannot transfer existing prepaid years of service
purchased for your original Magic Jack subscription to your new Magic
Jack PLUS subscription.
